Japan - Ham Sandwich

I was taking the Shinkansen (Bullet Train) back to Tokyo and wanted to get something to eat, so I bought a ham sandwich from the food cart. This is my sad, mostly meatless sandwich.

Where's the Wendy's lady when you need her? "Where's the Beef!" except in this case it's where's the Ham!

Where's the meat!

Japan - Train Delays

I was going to take a train at the Akihabara Station, but there was some kind of delays with the train line, so there were huge crowds of people waiting to get on the few train that were coming through.

Japan - Shinkansen (Bullet Train)

Coming back from my Golden Week in Hakuba I took the Shinkansen. I was curious about how fast we were actually going, so I used my hiking GPS to see. According to the GPS we hit 161 mph (259.1 kph). It's pretty amazing how smooth the ride is even when going that fast.

Japan - Sleeping on the Train

I'm always amaze by the number of people sleeping on the train and their ability to stay in a setting position while having a snooze. This guy unfortunately doesn't seem to have that skill. At first he fell asleep and was leaning on the guy to his left who gave him a nudge to wake him back up. A minute later he was asleep again, but this time he leaned over onto the woman. The woman didn't seem too happy about this, but also seemed too shy to do anything about it. She gave sleepy guy one little poke, but that didn't do much, and then just let him sleep.

Japan - Ginza Line Subway Tunnel

Normally if you look down the tunnels at the end of the subway station all you see is darkness. But I setup my camera on a tripod and did some long exposure shots down the tunnel. Because the exposure are so long, I was able to get enough light for the photos to turn out and to reveal what you would not normally be able to see.
